About the Recipe
This recipe is for a single serving of three small taco burgers. You can easily accommodate more people by multiplying the recipe.
Ingredients
1 teaspoon mayonnaise
1 tablespoon ketchup
1/2 teaspoon hot sauce
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauceÂ
1/3 lb ground beef (I had a pound and only used a third of the package and saved the rest)Â
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 teaspoon garlic seasoningÂ
3 flour tortillas, street taco sized
2 slices of cheese, cut in half lengthwise (I used colby jack)
1 cup shredded iceberg lettuce
1/4 cup diced onion
Preparation
Make the sauce to your taste:
I combined mayo, ketchup, Worcestershire, hot sauce, salt and pepper in a small bowl; set sauce aside.Â
Heat a griddle over medium-high heat.
Take the desired amount of beef and put it into a bowl. Add salt, pepper, garlic and any seasonings to taste (taco seasoning would be delicious here, too!)Â
Using a fork, mash up the beef so there are no large chunks and the seasonings are incorporated.Â
Divide beef into 3 loose portions and place them in small circles on the hot griddle (they will look crumbly, that’s ok.)Â
Cook for 2 minutes.Â
Place a tortilla on top of each beef portion and press down to flatten the beef into the shape and size of the tortilla.
Cook for a few more minutes
Drain fat as best you can without dropping your food all over the place.Â
Flip the burgers so the tortilla is on the bottom and continue cooking until you reach desired doneness.Â
Flip each patty back over and top with cheese, if desired. When cheese has melted, move the taco burgers to a plate and add desired toppings.Â
Fold in half like a taco.Â
Enjoy immediately.Â
